An annoying alliterating mod by Missilemaster


Installation: Put all of these in UT2004/System:
Radiation.u
Radiation.int
Radiation.int

And add this to ServerPackages to run a server:
ServerPackages=Radiation

Note: This is designed to work online, but I have no way to test that...good luck. :P


This simple mutator is pretty much what it sounds like: Redeemer explosions will now
leave behind dangerous radiation. A bright green light warns anyone against getting
too close, but if you run in there anyway you will take some damage from it. You'll
score points for killing people with a Redeemer's leftover radiation, so Redeemers
are now even more valuable for point pigs. ;) Realistically, the radiation will
slowly fade away over time, decreasing its damage and area of effect; also, you will
take more damage the closer you are to the original explosion location, and walls
will block the radiation. Radiation goes through most things, including energy shields; 
the only safe way to go through an irradiated area is in a sealed vehicle like a 
Goliath or Raptor (Scorpions, Hellbenders or other open vehicles won't protect you).


Higher-level bots are usually smart enough to stay out of the radiation, but not
always smart enough to navigate around it (they seem to just dance back and forth
if there isn't an extremely obvious way around). AvoidMarkers really aren't 
designed for such huge areas, but nothing else does the job at all.

Radiation damage and the lifespan of an area of radiation can be modified (within 
reason) in the Configure Mutators menu. You can also turn on the team damage 
override there, which makes radiation damage teammates even if team damage is 
off; this could help make games less spammy.
